Magic Springs Theme and Water Park
Hot Springs, Arkansas
The Magic Springs Family Fun Park opened in the summer of 1978 under the management of
Leisure and Recreation Concepts. The park had financial problems and ended up closing in 1995. After changing ownership a couple of times,
the park reopened in 2000. Over the years, the park has been owned or operated by Fitraco, Themeparks LLC, CNL Income Properties, PARC Management, and
Amusement Managers Partners. These days, the park is owned by EPR Properties and operated by Premier Parks, LLC. The park changed its name to
Magic Springs Theme and Water Park in 2016. The amusement park is home to the 5,000-seat Timberwood Amphitheater concert venue.
Four coasters have left the park:
- Roaring Tornado operated here from 1980 to 1989. It was a launched looping shuttle from
Arrow Dynamics. Since 1990, it has been operating as
Sidewinder at Denver's
Elitch Gardens.
- Twist 'n' Shout was a Zamperla Zig Zag
coaster that operated here form 2000 to 2012. It started as
Wild Wonder at Gillian's Wonderland Pier in 1999. Since 2013, it has been
Twist 'n' Shout at the Family Kingdom Amusement Park.
- A small kiddie coaster called Wild Hog ran here in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
- Zyklon was a Pinfari Zyklon Z47 coaster that operated
here from 1992 to 1995. Since it is a portable coaster, it probably operated
at a variety of locations both before and after its years in Arkansas.
