Kinderstad Heerlen, or Children's City Heerlen, sits next to a large railway switching yard in a small city in the southern section of the Netherlands. The long building used to be a wood carving factory, but the property was purchased by two brothers, Klaas and Bert van der Honing, in 1999. Since then, the building has become an indoor park for children with trampolines, inflatables, rides, games, and picnic facilities. In 2007, the van der Honing brothers purchased the nearby Mondo Verde gardens and turned them into an amusement park, zoo, and world gardens.
