Fun Spot America traces its origins to 1979 when John Arie, Sr. opened the Fun N Wheels on International Drive in Orlando. In 1988, Arie opened the second Fun N Wheels in Kissimmee, Florida. He sold the two properties in 1988 and soon opened a Fun Spot in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and one in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In 1997, Arie opened the Fun Spot Action Park near the site of the original Fun N Wheels location in Orlando. The park underwent a 15-acre expansion in 2013 and its name changed to Fun Spot America. The Arie family also owns the nearby Fun Spot America park in Kissimmee, the property which used to be called Fun Spot USA, and the Fun Spot America Atlanta park in Fayetteville, Georgia.
