LEGOLAND California
Carlsbad, California
The Danish toy maker, LEGO Company, has four theme parks. The first opened in Denmark in 1968. It was followed by one in the United Kingdom in 1996 and another in Germany in 2002. LEGOLAND California opened in March 1999. The park covers 128 acres and is located 30 miles from San Diego and 90 miles from Los Angeles. More than 35 million LEGO bricks were used to make the LEGO models throughout the park. There are amazing LEGO recreations of Las Vegas, New York, New Orleans, San Francisco, and more!
One coaster has left the park: Spellbreaker (2000-2003) was a "Batflyer" suspended coaster from Caripro. It sat dormant for about a year until it was removed in 2004.
