Race World
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee
Race World started in 1995 as an 80,000-square-foot retail outlet specializing in NASCAR and stock car related collectibles. Included in the building were an arcade, an 18-hole miniature golf course, and a go-cart track. In 2000, construction began on an outdoor fun area. The new area included Thunder Eagle, a kiddie coaster from Herschell, a merry-go-round, and another go-cart track. Unfortunately, the owners declared bankruptcy and closed the park only one year later. During late 2003, the coaster was dismantled and shipped to Quebec, Canada. Its new home was going to be Parc Aquatique in Mont Saint-Saveur, a ski park in the winter and a water park in the summer. However, permit problems kept the coaster dismantled and in storage. And at the end of 2006, it was announced that the coaster was now going to Mundo Acuatico Anita in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua Mexico. But in an eerie repeat of circumstances, this park too had and permit issues, so the ride has remained in storage for years.
