Lake Winnepesaukah
Rossville, Georgia
Lake Winnie is located just across the state line from Chattanooga, Tennessee. The park began as a picnic place in 1925. Ever since then, it has been owned and operated by Carl and Minette Dixon and their descendants. The park is home to several unique rides. The Boat Chute is one of the last mill chute water rides anywhere. Its boats plunge right into Lake Winnie. (Fortunately, the paddle-wheel boats are kept far away from the Chute!) The carousel, which was built in 1916 by PTC, is a large one with four horses per row.
