Dragon
O.D. Hopkins constructed seven roller coasters, and the
three that are no longer running are:
- Dragon, the one pictured here, was built in 1990 and demolished in late 2019.
- New Wild Mouse Coaster at Misaki Park in Osaka, Japan
was the last Hopkins coaster built and
opened in 1996. It ceased operating when the park closed permanently in early 2020.
- Red Devil featured one vertical loop and opened in 1988 at the Ghost Town in the Sky amusement park located in Maggie Valley, North Carolina. The
coaster was Standing But Not Operating (SBNO) from 2002 through 2008. Many changes occurred in 2009: the park was renamed Ghost Town Village, the
coaster was renamed Cliff Hanger, and the coaster reopened with brand new trains. Unfortunately, things did not last because the coaster only ran for about
one year before returning to SBNO status. The park closed permanently in 2016, and both the park and coaster are still SBNO.
