Steel Venom

Steel Venom utilizes a linear induction motor (LIM) propulsion system to propel the trains.  The maximum speed reached is around 68 miles per hour.

The LIM system can be seen at the bottom of this piece of track.  The white sections shown create a powerful magnetic field that interacts with metal fins on top of the coaster's train.  Computers sense the position and speed of the train then rapidly adjust the flow of electricity to the LIMs.  This converts a large amount of electrical current into the powerful magnetic forces that launch trains out of the station.
