Dreamworld
Coomera, Queensland, Australia
Situated on Australia's East Coast, Dreamworld got its start in 1974 when John Longhurst purchased 85 hectares of land.
The park opened in 1981. A water park opened in 2006. The park's 13 worlds include Ocean Parade, DreamWorks Experience,
Wiggles World, Gold Rush Country, River Town, and Rocky Hollow. Dreamworld is Australia's largest theme park and is home not only to a large
collection of rides, but also some
impressive animal displays with Bengal and Sumatran tigers giving shows on Tiger Island, lots of koalas in Koala Country, and a wide
variety of native animals in the Australian Wildlife Experience.
One coaster, the Thunderbolt, has left the park. This ride from Meisho Amusement Machines had two vertical
loops and ran from 1982 until it was scrapped in 2003. BuzzSaw, a SkyLoop model from Maurer Söhne, opened in 2011.
