Coaster Thrill Ride
This shot shows some of the problems in maintaining a coaster that is three quarters of a century old. A lot of the supports were simply placed on railroad ties or pieces of lumber. Since they are so close to the ground's surface, they are subject to movement and settling. The newly renovated sections now have footers that are sunk several feet into the ground and consist of concrete and metal. They will provide a much steadier foundation for the coaster.
