Built from 1990 to 1992 by Gaylord Entertainment (the company that owned the now defunct Opryland amusement park) and USAA, Fiesta Texas sits in an abandoned limestone quarry. Several of the coasters make good use of the cliffs that surround the park. In 1996, Six Flags Theme Parks took control of the park, and it became the eighth park owned by the chain.
Joker's Revenge was Standing But Not Operating (SBNO) for the entire 2002 season. In April 2003, it opened as Jester at Six Flags New Orleans, the park formerly known as Jazz Land. The coaster remains there, but it has not operated since Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana.
