Kawasemi
This picture shows some of the mechanism that pulls trains out of the station and up the lift hill. A "catch car" rides in a trough positioned in the middle of this track. It has a mechanism that allows the front car of the train to attach to it. Sadly, the "catch car" is off to the left and out of view in this picture, but the alternating light and dark segments of mechanism that link the "catch car" to the cable can be seen. The small rectangular cutouts in the metal, located just to the right of that mechanism, are part of the anti-rollback mechanism, the linear ratchet system that ensures trains can only move up the hill and not fall downward in case of a cable break or problem with the cable-lift system.
