Space Mountain
A few lighting effects were added when the ride was updated in 2007. A tunnel with animated lights was also added over the track at the end of the ride. Despite the addition of new lighting effects and updated displays in the waiting queue and station, the ride remains nearly the same. Unlike the other Space Mountain coasters, the version in Japan has never received a Halloween or Star Wars overlay.
The Japanese Space Mountain has retained a few things that some other ones have removed. The moving walkway seen here at the entrance, or Peoplemover track as Disney calls it, is still operating, while the moving tracks on the American rides have been removed. The ride still has Coca-Cola as a corporate sponsor, a company that has had its name on the ride for decades, possibly as far back as at the ride's opening in the 1980s.
