Do-Dodonpa
Because of the rain, I don't have any good pictures of the coaster's trains in operating, but it is important to discuss some of the unusual aspects of Do-Dodonpa's 4 trains. Each train has four rows of seats. Although the trains are rather wide, only two sears are in each row, which allows just 8 riders to fit in each train. The seats were first equipped with lap bars, but over-the-shoulder restraints were added when the coaster's massive hill was exchanged with a large vertical loop. The ride originally had faces painted on the front of each train. The cartoon faces represented a father, a mother, a daughter, and a baby. Around 2010, the cars were repainted and now are painted like a cheetah, a snake, a zebra, and a strawberry. I have no idea why this odd mix of three animals and a food item was chosen.
