The Taft Broadcasting Company began in 1939 and was based in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to owning a number of TV and radio stations, the company also owned Kings Entertainment Company (KECO). At its height, KECO operated six amusement parks, but it was sold to Paramount Communications in 1992. The six parks were eventually sold to Cedar Fair in 2006. The Taft Broadcasting Company eventually went bankrupt in 1993 and was acquired by Clear Channel Communications in 1999.
The parks owned by Taft built a small number of wood coasters in the 1970s and 1980s. These in-house coasters are sometimes referred to as being constructed by the Taft Attractions Group.
