If you look closely, you can see the evidence of the coaster's old paint job.  I know some coaster manufacturers in the past would not allow their rides' rails to be painted, but that did not apply to this ride.  I sort of like the natural look of steel rails.  Many rides with painted rails, like this coaster, have the paint peel off the rails after use.  While I realize that the paint is just cosmetic and the underlying rails are physically fine, I prefer the look of unpainted metal versus peeling paint like this one.
