Viper
Viper was the third and final installation of seven-loop
coasters that Arrow
built for the Six Flags chain. The other coasters are the
Great American Scream
Machine at
Six Flags Great Adventure and
Shockwave at
Six Flags Great America.
Shockwave was scrapped in 2004, and
Great American Scream
Machine was torn down in 2010, so Viper is the last of the these seven-loopers still running.
The three coasters were very similar. The inversions were nearly identical, but the transitions between the loops were slightly different. Also, Viper was a just a few feet taller than the other two. This gave Viper the title of world's tallest looping coaster when it opened.
