Cyclone

In 1979, Cyclone's original trains, which were made of oak, were replaced with these unique cars.  Hans Vichiola, a local furniture manufacturer, was asked to make new trains, and one red train and one blue train was constructed.  The new cars were mostly copies of the original trains, but they were built with a stronger structure than the old trains.  Another change was that the metal front of the original lead cars was replaced with this curved fiberglass facade.  The new trains are made out of almost entirely out of wood, not metal like modern trains.  Also, the lap bars are in a fixed position, not movable and adjustable like on modern roller coasters.  The bare metal tubes of the fixed lapbars don't really keep riders safely seated, so seatbelts are also used on each bench.
