Son of Beast

Son of Beast was plagued with construction problems.  It opened to the public much later than planned, and after it premiered, it was closed more than it was open during its first few months.   In 2001, Paramount's Kings Island sued several companies including the company that built the coaster as well as the providers of the wood.

On July 8, 2006, a structural failure caused an accident that injured 27 riders.  The ride remained closed for the rest of the season.  During the next winter, the ride was modified and new trains were added to the coaster in 2007.  It was closed for a good portion of 2009, sat dormant in 2011 and 2012, and was demolished in October 2012.
