Hypersonic XLC
Hypersonic XLC used aircraft tires on its trains. These air-filled wheels produced a very smooth ride! The tires on the plane I fly go from zero to about 150 miles per hour when I land, so I personally can attest that the tires are extremely sturdy. I thought that the use of pneumatic tires on a coaster was a technological move forward, and I thought that we would be seeing more rides with wheels like these. It turns out that I was wrong. I haven't seen any other coasters with a system like Hypersonic.
In this section of the ride, the train stopped and was weighed for a few moments. This determined how much air would be used to launch it.
