Dragon Challenge
I was sad that the massive red and blue dragons were removed from the entrance when this section of the park got a make-over. This is what the replacement Harry Potter entrance looked like. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter section of the park opened in June 2010, and this ride officially changed its name to Dragon Challenge at that time.
The ride closed in September 2017. Because it was scrapped, it holds a unique place in roller coaster history. Bolliger and Mabillard has been building roller coasters since 1992, and has constructed nearly 120 different coasters. Dragon Challenge was the first, and so far the only, B & M to be demolished. Six of their rides have been relocated and one has been Standing But Not Operating since 2016, but this beautiful dueling coaster is the only one that ended up being destroyed.
