Cobra's Curse
This picture shows two trains. The leftmost train, which has a light brown paint job, is exiting the mid-course brake run. This section of brakes slows the trains to a very slow speed, and can even bring trains to a complete stop if the preceding train hasn't cleared the next block of track.
When trains pass this section of brakes, several different things happen at once. The voice of King Venymyss is broadcast over speakers mounted around the track. The booming voice says, "Turn. Turn and face your fear!" The cars also begin rotating at this time. Before these brakes, the cars are locked into the forward-facing direction for the first section of the ride, but electric motors mounted in the cars slowly spin them 180° so they face backwards. Once in this reversed orientation, the cars are again locked into position. The cars complete the second major segment of the ride facing backwards. After this segment, trains are hoisted up the booster lift hill, then the cars are once again unlocked. They spin freely on the third and final segment of Cobra's Curse.
