Flitzer

Flitzer was built by Zierer GmbH.  It is 25 feet high, 1,200 feet long, and was built in 1969.  It opened at Morey's Piers in 1981.  

In 2000, it still sported this 'cosmic' paint job.  The space artwork became even more complex and beautiful in the next few years.
