Gwazi
In this picture, one of Gwazi's trains was reaching the top of the lift right before sunset. Unlike other racing coasters where the lift hills were placed side-to-side, Gwazi's lifts were positioned far apart from each other.
I first rode this coaster in 2000, the same year I took this picture. Back then, it was a lot of fun. The dueling and racing aspect of the ride made it even more fun. Unfortunately, time was not very kind to Gwazi. As it aged, it became more and more rough. After just decade, major sections of the coaster were re-tracked, and new trains were added to the ride. However, the coaster was still pretty rough and required a lot of maintenance. The constant need for maintenance work and the declining popularity of the coaster caused the tracks to be closed only 13 and 16 years after the ride was built.
