Loch Ness Monster
This is one of the original cars built by Arrow Dynamics. It may seem strange that a roller coaster would operate with trains that are nearly 40 years old, but it really isn't that unusual. Just like an old automobile or an old aircraft, old roller coasters can still operate safely as long as required maintenance inspections take place and hardware is replaced or upgraded when needed. These wheels typically don't last one season, so they are changed out often. Based on the number of wheels and suspension units I saw sitting in this maintenance area, the park is doing a good job replacing the hardware on this rolling stock. I doubt that there are many pieces left on this historic train that were original equipment from the 1970s.
