Kingda Ka

While rare, "rollbacks" occasionally happen on this coaster.  Over 100 brake fins pop up in the launch track just in case the train doesn't make it over the humongous first hill.  If needed, they slow the train and prevent it from returning backward to the station at high speed.  I personally have never been on an Accelerator Coaster during a "rollback", but I would love to have one happen to me.  I think it would be exciting to fall backward down the massive hill!

The metal fins move up and down on the launch track, but the metal brake fins on this hill are fixed firmly in place.  Since this is the end of the ride, the train always needs to slow down here!
