Kingda Ka

The three cars are pulled up to this location by cables.  The yellow section located above the riders is the release mechanism.  The larger yellow portion is attached to the wide area with railings situated at the top of the vehicle.  The smaller section of yellow is attached to the seating area beneath.  After a few agonizing seconds at this location at the top of the tower, the cars are released as the bottom yellow section is unhooked from the top yellow mechanism.  Gravity takes the vehicles rapidly downward while the top section remains here.  After a few moments, the cables slowly move and the three top sections are lowered back down to the loading platform.
