Joker
When this coaster was announced in 2015, the Press Releases said it was going to be called Total Mayhem. For some reason, the decision was made to change its name to Joker. With that name change, Six Flags Great Adventure now has a record-setting seven roller coasters themed after DC Comics characters! The ride opened to the public in May 2016. It sits on the northwestern shore of Switlik Lake, a small body of water located between the amusement park and the Six Flags Wild Safari park.
On the first three drops, you can see some metal pieces extending above the track. These steel plates interact with blocks of magnets on the train. These magnetic "kickers" force the seats to rotate as the trains do these drops. Other coaster enthusiasts may have different opinions, but I don't like these forced spins. Seats on the Intamin ZacSpin rides such as Green Lantern: First Flight, Insane, and Kirnu rotate freely and do not use a mechanism to force the riders to flip around. Those rides simply use the physics of the moving train and the unbalanced loads of various passenger sizes to randomly spin the seats around. I prefer those coasters to the forced flips on the type of coaster seen here.
