Griffon

This roller coaster is themed after a griffin, the mythological half-lion/half-eagle creature.  The spelling is believed to be a French spelling.

Griffon replaced the LeMans Raceway ride, the antique car ride that operated from the park's opening in 1975 until 2006.  Each car, which had an eight-horsepower engine, traveled nearly 200,000 miles around the tracks in the three decades in which the ride operated.
