Batwing

Vekoma created these "Flying Dutchman" coasters that allow riders to fly in a prone position.  Unfortunately, the manufacturer had a variety of problems when the flying coasters opened.  For example, the hourly capacity of the "Flying Dutchman" coasters fell well short of what was anticipated.  And if the problems with the capacity and reliability of the flying coasters wasn't enough, three Deja Vu coasters from Vekoma opened at the end of the 2001 season instead of the beginning of the year as planned.  These three coasters were also plagued by problems.  In response, Vekoma filed for bankruptcy protection in the fall of 2001.

For those of you with really wide monitors, here is a big panorama of Batwing at sunset.
