Before this ride became Nebraska's only roller coaster in 2007, it ran at a lot of different amusement parks. The coaster was built in 1972 and spent its first few decades on the traveling carnival and fair circuit. It eventually settled down and ran as Thunderail at Harmel's Park in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1992 until 1999. In 2000 and 2001, it ran as Zyklon at Branson USA. In 2003 to 2006, it was the Zyklon at the Saginaw County Fairgrounds in Michigan. Although the county fair was only one week during each summer, the coaster sat on the property throughout the year.
