Boats are hoisted part way up the lift hill and are then held in position for a moment under a carving of a ghoulish face. While stationary, a voice can be heard saying, "You shall sail until the end of time!" (Actually, it says it in Dutch, "Gij zult vaeren, tot het einde der tijden!")
