Dreamworld

Coomera, Queensland, Australia

Situated on Australia's East Coast, Dreamworld got its start in 1974 when John Longhurst purchased 85 hectares of land. The park opened in 1981. A water park opened in 2006. The park's 13 worlds include Ocean Parade, DreamWorks Experience, Wiggles World, Gold Rush Country, River Town, and Rocky Hollow. Dreamworld is Australia's largest theme park and is home not only to a large collection of rides, but also some impressive animal displays with Bengal and Sumatran tigers giving shows on Tiger Island, lots of koalas in Koala Country, and a wide variety of native animals in the Australian Wildlife Experience.

Four coasters have left the park:

  • BuzzSaw, a SkyLoop XT150 model from Maurer SÖhne, operated here from 2011 to 2021. Since December 2022, it has been running as Project Zero at Gumbuya World world in Tynong, Victoria, Australia.
  • Eureka Mountain Mine Ride operated from 1986 to 2006 and was demolished in 2017. It was a indoor Schiff Wild Mouse but much of the coaster was replaced by Hyfab, a company based in nearby Brisbane, Australia. See below for pictures and more information.
  • Thunderbolt was a Meisho Amusement Machines coaster with two vertical loops that ran from 1982 until it was scrapped in 2003.
  • Tower of Terror II operated from 1997 to 2019. It was a Reverse Freefall Coaster from Intamin. It was called Tower of Terror until 2010 when the cars were reversed on the track. The tower supporting the coaster still operates as a freefall ride. See below for pictures and details.
