Coaster Thrill Ride
The original Douglas Fir beams are being replaced with Southern Yellow Pine. But according to John Hinde, this has presented some problems. The original old-growth wood did not have any knots in the boards, but modern lumber standards allow more imperfections. To accommodate the change in lumber, the supports now have beams every six feet whereas the old structure had beams every eight feet.
