Playland's Castaway Cove
Ocean City, New Jersey

    Playland's Castaway Cove opened in 1959 on the Ocean City Boardwalk.  Covering three acres at the corner of 10th and Boardwalk, the park presently has thirty rides.

    Since my last visit, one coaster has been added.  Pirate's Gold Rush is a Miler Industries family coaster that opened in 2013.  Two coasters have left the park: Mighty Mouse ran here from 1996 to 2004.  It had been in storage in Oregon from 1959 until Playland purchased it.  In 2005, it moved up the Jersey shore and ran at the Funtown Pier in Seaside Park, New Jersey until the pier was destroyed during Hurricane Sandy in October 2012.  Sea Serpent (pictured below) moved to Orlando's Fun Spot America in 2013.
