Giant Dipper
This coaster has gone through a number of name changes. It opened in 1925
as
Giant Dipper. In the 1950s, it was renamed Roller Coaster.
It changed its name to Earthquake in 1976, but the name only lasted six
months. The ride then sat dormant for the next decade and a half.
When it reopened in 1990, the ride took its original Giant Dipper name.
And possibly because of all of the name changes, many people have referred to
the ride as the Mission Beach Roller Coaster.
