Fun Forest Amusement Park
Seattle, Washington
Fun Forest originally was the midway of the 1962
World's Fair. When it opened, the area was called "Gayway." The
park sits at the base of the Seattle Space Needle. Most of the rides were removed
at the end of 2009, and the rest of the land was converted to other uses
after the park closed in 2011.
Several roller
coasters have left the area:
-
Broadway Trip was a Mack ride. It has been
moved numerous times since the World's Fair. It last ran as Wizard's Cavern
at Casino Pier in New Jersey. It was demolished in 2003.
-
Galaxi was an SDC coaster that ran at Fun Forest until 1992.
It presently operates at Sylvan Beach in New York.
-
Wild Mouse was a small ride that also operated during
the Fair.
-
Windstorm (see pictures below for details) was sold
at the end of 2009 and has travelled to some county and state fairs.
