Wild Eagle
This steel sculpture sits next to the Wild Eagle station. It has a wingspan of 42 feet and weighs about 8,000 pounds. Most of the steel feathers have rusted, but the head was made of stainless steel in order to make it look like a bald eagle.
Dollywood is home to the American Eagle Foundation and the Eagle Mountain Bird Sanctuary. Its 30,000-square-foot aviary is home to the nation's largest collection of non-releasable bald eagles. While the park does their best to breed, rehabilitate, and release eagles, it keeps a large number of injured birds that can't live on their own in the wild.
