Iron Rattler
This shot was taken on top of the cliff, outside the park property. Compare it with a picture of Rattler taken from the same location. The original ride made several passes over this area, and several layers of track were stacked on top of each other, while the new ride has only one pass by this area. The lack of revolutions around this area is the primary reason the track's length decreased from 5,080 feet to 3,266 feet.
Although the track is shorter, it doesn't mean it is less exciting. While on this cliff, trains pass through a camelback hill, a 98° over-banked turn to the right and a 93° over-banked turn to the left. As the train quickly snakes through these crazy maneuvers, the thrill is further accentuated by the track's placement right at ground level.
